Etowah Water & Sewer Authority (Dawson County, Georgia)
Etowah River 17 MGD Raw Water Intake and Pumping Station

Infratec has partnered with the Etowah Water & Sewer Authority to develop a comprehensive water supply strategy to address the rapidly growing potable water demands of Dawson County, Georgia. In July 2007, the first aspect of this strategy was implemented with the completion of the Etowah River Raw Water Intake and Pumping Station. The structure was sized to accommodate 17-mgd and has an initial pumping capacity of 5.5-mgd. The project preceded the expansion of the Authority’s Hightower Water Treatment Plant to 5.5-mgd, which is scheduled to begin construction in October, 2007. Infratec served as the lead engineer responsible for conceptual design, final design, permitting, and bidding assistance.
