Dawson Forest WRF, Phase 2 Expansion

Infratec is serving as the consulting engineer for the Etowah Water & Sewer Authority's Dawson Forest WRF Phase 2 expansion project. This ongoing project will meet wastewater treatment needs of the rapidly growing population in Dawson County, Georgia. Infratec's services include NPDES permitting, treatment technology review, equipment pre-selection, conceptual design, final design and preparation of technical specifications and contract documents.

Infratec is currently designing the Phase 2 expansion of the Dawson Forest WRF. This expansion will add a new 1.25-mgd state-of-the-art membrane bioreactor treatment process, expandable to 10.0-mgd. The new plant will discharge highly treated effluent to the Etowah River.

As part of its services Infratec prepared a report that provides a detailed road map for expanding the plant in multiple construction phases; provided permitting services including conducting an Antidegradation review; prepared an environmental information document; conducted public hearings; prepared a design development report which summarized the major unit process incorporated into the expansion.
