Alcovy River 35 MGD Raw Water Intake and Pumping Station

In June 2005, the Newton County, Georgia Board of Commissioners completed construction of the Alcovy River Raw Water Intake and Pump Station. The Alcovy River Intake and Pump Station provides raw water screening and pumping of 35-mgd from the Alcovy River to the Roy Varner Reservoir. The reservoir is the source water for Newton County’s Cornish Creek Water Treatment Facility.
